AHA Centre PRA Job Postings
The Canadian Aboriginal AIDS Network (CAAN) in collaboration with 2 Spirited People of the 1st Nation, All Nations Hope Aids Network, Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada, and Shining Mountain Living are seeking a Peer Research Associates (PRA) in Toronto, Regina, Ottawa, Red Deer for the newly funded Aboriginal HIV & AIDS Community-Based Research Centre (AHA Centre). Information exchange, research development and innovative Knowledge-to-Action are the cornerstones of the AHA Centre. Made up of a collaboration of Aboriginal community-based researchers from across Canada, community-based research (CBR) initiatives will be supported through capacity building and access to the expertise of researchers across the country. Aboriginal and HIV & AIDS communities will be directly engaged in every aspect of the Centre and of central importance, duplication of resources and the work to produce them will be reduced. Peer Research Associates (PRA) will play an integral role in supporting local AIDS Service Organizations in their regions.

Refining the Research Response: An Aboriginal HIV and AIDS Research Strategy

The Canadian Aboriginal AIDS Network (CAAN), in partnership with the Canadian Association for
HIV Research (CAHR); CIHR Canadian HIV Trials Network (CTN); CIHR Centre for REACH
(REACH); and the CIHR Social Research Centre for HIV Prevention (SRC), is seeking a full-time
Research Coordinator for the Refining the Research Response: An Aboriginal HIV and AIDS Research Strategy
for Canada project. The aim of this project is to refine the contribution that research can offer in
response to the complex dynamics of the HIV epidemic in Aboriginal communities in Canada to
produce a unifying, community-driven research strategy.
